Federal Grant Funding Now Available from the COPS School Violence Prevention Program (SVPP)

The US Department of Justice’s Office of Community Oriented Policing Services (COPS) continues its commitment to creating safer learning environments with up to $73 million in funding from the FY25 School Violence Prevention Program (SVPP). Each award is three years (36 months) in duration for a maximum federal share of $500,000 per award, with a local cash match (cost share) requirement of at least 25 percent.

“This program was developed to fund exactly what our platform was designed to deliver: better coordination between schools and law enforcement for an expedited response to acts of school violence.”

– Scott Lowry, StrataSite President

The grant will provide up to 75% of funding for the following school safety measures in and around K-12 (primary and secondary) schools and school grounds:

  • Coordination with law enforcement
  • Training for local law enforcement officers to prevent student violence against others and self
  • Metal detectors, locks, lighting, and other deterrent measures
  • Technology for expedited notification of local law enforcement during an emergency
  • Any other measure that the COPS Office determines may provide a significant improvement in security

According to StrataSite President Scott Lowry, this grant opportunity is a natural fit for StrataSite. “This program was developed to fund exactly what our platform was designed to deliver: better coordination between schools and law enforcement for an expedited response to acts of school violence.”

Incident Action Planning (IAP) with StrataSite helps bridge the gaps in communication, planning, and training that can hinder effective response through stakeholder collaboration. StrataSite gives all stakeholders 24/7 access to safety plans via digital asset management (DAM) and enables stakeholder training with the built-in learning management system (LMS) to further align responders for a coordinated response.
