Due to a recent amendment to the School Safety Drill Act, grant funding is now available for Illinois schools to obtain crisis response mapping data to provide to local emergency response authorities. This opportunity can help ensure that local first responders have critical site-specific information of each school, including detailed floor plans with labeling of entrance/exit locations, to help protect and save lives during emergency situations.
“Our team works directly with school authorities and emergency response agencies to develop crisis response mapping data that equips all stakeholders with the visibility to easily navigate school grounds and quickly respond to active threats.” - Scott Lowry, StrataSite President
“Illinois implemented the School Safety Drill Act with the intent of having schools and first responders work together on emergency response planning initiatives,” stated Scott Lowry, StrataSite president. “StrataSite was designed for this purpose. Our team works directly with school authorities and emergency response agencies to develop crisis response mapping data that equips all stakeholders with the visibility to easily navigate school grounds and quickly respond to active threats.”
Critical incident mapping with StrataSite meets all grant funding requirements as detailed in Section 50 of the School Safety Drill Act, excerpted below:
- be compatible and integrate into security software platforms in use by the specific school for which the data is provided without requiring local law enforcement agencies or the school district to purchase additional software or requiring the integration of third-party software to view the data;
